Our Programs

Aunt Rita’s Foundation connects Arizonans to HIV prevention, testing, and treatment through HIVAZ.org, the state’s largest online resource directory. Offering free HIV/STI testing at home or at nearly 100 locations statewide, Aunt Rita’s ensures accessible care for all. We fight stigma through public awareness campaigns and provide specialized programs for long-term survivors, older adults, and HIV-positive youth, fostering support, education, and community connections.

Philanthropy

Aunt Rita’s Foundation raises funds through the annual AIDS Walk & 5K Run to support partner agencies throughout Arizona, providing essential HIV services, including testing, treatment, prevention, and harm reduction. Partner agencies are selected through an annual grant application process to ensure funds reach those most in need. Aunt Rita’s also sponsors community events and special projects, contributing millions of dollars to critical HIV programs across Arizona.

Our Events

Aunt Rita’s Foundation hosts impactful events to raise awareness, funds, and support for those affected by HIV. From AIDS Walk Arizona, the state’s largest HIV/AIDS fundraiser, to RED is the Night and the World AIDS Day Candlelight Vigil, each event unites the community, honors those impacted, and fuels our mission to end HIV and support those living with it. These gatherings create powerful moments of remembrance, advocacy, and hope for a future without HIV.

OUR SIGNATURE PROGRAMS

HIVAZ Connect

Aunt Rita’s Foundation’s HIVAZ Connect program engages Arizona’s communities in HIV education, testing, and treatment options. Through HIVAZ.org and GetTestedAZ.org, both available in English and Spanish, individuals can access vital information, find local testing and treatment resources, and order free at-home HIV test kits or HIV/STI testing vouchers. HIVAZ Connect ensures that everyone has the tools they need to take charge of their health and well-being.

Experienced Escapades

Experienced Escapades is Aunt Rita’s Foundation’s signature program for aging adults (50+) living with HIV, offering monthly social and supportive activities designed to foster connection and well-being. Participants enjoy engaging outings, resource navigation, and dedicated mindfulness and yoga sessions to promote overall health and wellness. Through community, education, and empowerment, Experienced Escapades enhances quality of life and reduces isolation for older adults thriving with HIV.

Positive Youth Empowerment

Aunt Rita’s Positive Empowerment Youth Retreat provides HIV-positive youth (ages 14-24) with a safe and supportive space to connect, build lasting bonds, and gain essential life skills. Through workshops, outings, and fireside conversations, participants strengthen their sense of community while developing the confidence to navigate their futures. As these young individuals transition into adulthood, Aunt Rita’s continues to support them with follow-up resource navigation, ensuring they can confidently access healthcare, treatment, and essential services for a healthy, empowered life.

AIDS Walk Arizona & 5K Run

Join 5,000 other people at Tempe Beach Park at the largest HIV Fundraiser in the state of Arizona! Register as a walker or runner, and include your kids and furry friends. All proceeds support our 14 partner HIV/AIDS service organizations.

RED is The Night Gala

Aunt Rita’s elevated gala fundraiser that features delicious cocktails and food, and music to make you dance the night away. Your generous support for RED is the Night provides funding for our partner agencies to provide critical HIV services in Arizona.

World AIDS Day Candlelight Vigil

Aunt Rita’s Foundation invites you to our World AIDS Day event, a powerful gathering to honor the lives impacted by HIV/AIDS and unite our community in the fight against stigma and discrimination.
